Yesterday I asked you some questions and I told you to reply to the mail and answer them.

Some people replied,

But I am still waiting for others like you to reply .

(Again, ignore if you replied).

If you didn't read yesterday's mail and you're wondering what I'm talking about, just go ahead and read it up and do the needful.

Meanwhile, today's mail is going to be very short, 

And in this short mail, I have a very important lesson for you,

But first, here's something funny and interesting that happened to me yesterday.

Don't laugh at me .

Just kidding!

But seriously don't laugh at me.

Agreed? 

Good. 

If you have been on my list for a while now, then you know that aside from the little stuffs I do in the online space, 

In the real world, I am a teacher... 

As in I teach in an actual school. 

So here's what happened.

I'd been wearing the same set of clothes to work for quite a while,

And although, I don't normally care how I look, whether I am fine or not fine, 

As long as I don't look shabby, dirty or poor. 

Afterall, who is looking at me? 

I am not kuku looking for wife yet. 

But then, I decided that I wanted to switch things up a bit, 

So I decided to wear a new shirt and a new pair of shoes to work. 

In my eyes, I looked pretty much the same and I wasn't even impressed with my look, 

But then one very audacious student (that girl really needs serious cane) asked me a strange question. 

At first, I was wondering why she asked the question, but then I figured it out, 

And another student even confirmed it. 

Guess what she asked me. 

Guess na!

Have you guessed? 

Guess jhoor. 

Did you guess? 

Good. 

Now here's how the conversation went. 

"Mr. Daniel, is today your birthday?" 

"What kind of question is that?" 

"And why are you asking?" 

"Sir, just answer first na" 

"No. Today is not my birthday" 

"Sir you're lying! Today is your birthday" 

"I said today is not my birthday. Why are you asking? Tell me the reason why you are asking" 

"No, sir tell me the truth.. Is today your birthday?" 

I can't remember the exact words of the conversation, but it was something north of what I wrote above. 

After some back and forth, I just walked away, ignored her and went about my business. 

It wasn't until a little bit later that one of the student's classmates came and literally said these words to me - 

"Sir, I have a confession..."

"Sir you look (really) fine today" 

- That was when I confirmed without doubt, the reason why that student was asking me the question in the first place. 

"Ehehn? Thank you!"

That was my response to her. 

But then, I got thinking. 

Wait! Does it mean that all this while, I have been dressing in the nonsense? 

Even today, she still confronted me again and said:

"Sir, today is no more your birthday. Was yesterday your birthday?". 

Can you just imagine!

And up till now, she refused to tell me the reason why she asked me that question. 

The whole shenanigan reminded me of a very important marketing lesson on how to sell to Nigerians. 

And what is this lesson? 

I will tell you, 

But not in this mail. 

I know I said this mail was going to be short, but here we are. 

Even I did not know that this mail will be this long when I started writing it. 

And if I decide to continue, then you are going to be in for a long read. 

But anyways, in the meantime, tell me.
