Here's something I have learned recently.

And I'll illustrate it to you with a story.

So there's this Copywriter who I highly respect.

His name is Dolapo Hamzat.

He is well known in the Nigerian Direct Response Marketing space.

And many top Nigerian marketers have paid him thousands of dollars (hundreds of thousands of Naira) to write copy for them.

So whenever he says anything about copywriting, I listen.

And recently some weeks ago, he introduced a 30-day hand copying challenge.

This is a challenge where we have to literally write long pages of sales copy with a pen on an actual book.

I'm talking about several pages of long copy.

And to make it effective because it was free,

He told everyone that whoever falls by the wayside and misses a day,

He would block such person, delete the persons contact and remove the person from his email list.

Despite all these threats, a lot of people still joined, including me.

You need to see me seriously writing copy, despite complaining about not having time.

It hasn't been easy, and God has been helping me.

But here's the lesson I want you to learn here.

Dolapo is someone very valuable and important to me.

And I don't want to lose contact with him because I learn a lot from him all the time.

And so this challenge is very important to me.

So no matter what, I make out time and make sure I write the copy for each day everyday.

And even though we are only one-third of the days into the challenge, it has been awesome so far.

And I have been able to discipline myself more than I would have if I was doing the challenge alone by myself.

All because of the consequences attached to being lazy and missing a day.

So I would rather inconvenience myself than miss one day.

What this means is that if something is important enough to you,

If:

• Your personal development,

• Your growth,

• Your improvement,

• Starting your business,

• Learning a skill,

• Getting stated with building your dream,

• Scaling your business,

• Becoming known for being great at what you do even while in school,

If any of these things are really that important to you, then:

• You will make time for it.

• You won't make excuses.

• You will go out of your way to make sure it works.

• You will make sure you get results.

• You will source for the money if it is needed.

• You will make the right connections.

• You will do the necessary research.

• You will do WHATEVER it takes.

No matter what it takes.

It's just a matter of how important it is to you.

And what is at stake.

What you stand to lose, or what you stand to gain.

So just ask yourself.

• How important is this thing to me?

• What do I stand to gain from this?

• What do I stand to lose from this?

Answer these three questions and they will change the game for you.
