I actually cried.

,

For the past few days I've been back in school, and consequently in the school hostel.

And in my room, there are these guys.

I don't know whether to call them notorious or obnoxious or just plain annoying.

But these guys are the "Kings" of cruise.

They use anybody and anyone to catch cruise.

And by cruise, I don't just mean banter.

It also includes a few threats, insults, disturbances sprinkled with a little pinch of "making your life hell".

And the first day I came into that room, I was a subject of their "cruise" for that day.

And being the "boti" or "ajebo" or "JJC" that I was at the time,

It really got to me emotionally.

If anything at all, the fact that I actually cried showed that it got to me.

And if I knew them then the way I know them now, I probably wouldn't have cried.

Because just yesterday and even for the past few days,

I have witnessed them do the same (usual) "cruise-catching" to quite a (significant enough) number of people.

And this time it was funny to me and I was even laughing.

It took a few weeks months for me to get used to everything, but now it doesn't move me anymore.

  • Did they stop being obnoxious? No.
  • Did they decide to tone it down a bit? Not quite.
  • Did they suddenly repent from their "sins"? Not really.

What really happened?

I just got better at and more adapted to "dealing" with them.

And that's the same way life works.

When life throws lemons at you, in the beginning you may have to endure the bitterness.

And sometimes, it may make you feel angry and emotional.

You may even cry like I did.

But one thing I am sure of is this.

IT WON'T GET ANY EASIER.

There! I said it.

Were you expecting me to say it will get easier?

I already told you.

Life doesn't get any easier.

You just get better at dealing with it and turning those lemons it throws at you into lemonades.

And I hope you put this at the back of your kind when you come across new problems and situations.

This way you know exactly what to expect.

Have a nice evening ahead.

To your digital success,

King Danisan™.

P.S: I guess it's obvious why I haven't been sending you mails regularly.

I resumed school this week, my exams timetable is out, and I have around 4 weeks to prepare.

Things are moving really quickly now and I'm going to need to double down on a lot of school activities.

I'll try not to let it affect me.

But if or when it does, it is what it is.

Peace.
