FORCED INTERMISSION

Mar 30, 2025 6:57 pm

Depending on the kind of person you are, you probably didn’t notice that I didn’t send you an email for about 3 days.

Especially since you didn’t even bother to ask about me.

Is that how you people do over here, ?

I wasn’t informed o.

Anyway,

If you’ve been following my WhatsApp status updates, then you probably know that I was a bit unwell for a couple of days.

And as a result, I couldn’t keep up with a lot of the projects I was working on…

Including this 30 Day Business Lessons Series here on my email list, and the 25 Days Life Lessons Series happening on my Instagram.

And because I didn’t see it coming, I didn’t make any plans for a situation like that.

But just like that, we’re 3 days behind schedule.

Which brings me to the business lesson I have for you today.

Well, two of them actually.

The first one is that you’re not a machine, and your body can break down or burnout at anytime.

And if you’re someone like me who doesn’t mind going the extra mile to get things done a lot of the time, then you’re likely going to experience a few of these situations over the course of your lifetime.

When those times come, don’t try to form “hard guy” or superman.

LISTEN to your body.

Give your body rest when it needs it.

Sleep when you need to.

Eat a lot of good food too.

And take drugs if you have to (I should probably take my own advice a lot more in this regard). (:

Because if you don’t do this, not only will you experience these periods of burnout or breakdown.

But because of your terrible management of the situation, it could end up happening for an extended period of time.

Leaving you behind on a lot of things, and potentially overwhelmed when you are finally able to get back to work.

So the best thing to do is listen to your body and do the needful, so you don’t have a  lot of regrets later.

The second lesson is to always plan ahead.

One of the things I’ve struggled the most with on my personal journey is procrastination.

And this is one of the many instances it has cost me dearly.

As you know, I’d had the idea for these series I’m currently doing for quite a while, but I kept procrastinating and didn’t set up the structures and systems for the smooth execution of the projects in place.

And so when I became sick for even one day, everything fell apart.

But all of these could have been avoided, if I had simply stopped procrastinating and planned ahead effectively.

Maybe you wouldn’t even have noticed that I was unwell.

Anyway, that ship has sailed, and I hope to do better in the future.

I only hope you will learn from my mistakes and do better too.

As one of the wise sayings in those children’s stories we used to read when we were young goes…

A wise man doesn’t wait to experience something before he learns. He learns from the experiences of others.

That’s all I have for you today.

See you tomorrow.
