,

Sometime ago, I was in the middle of marketing my gadgets in my hostel in school...

When I saw a guy I know (let's call him Kunle) and I greeted him.

As we got talking, he started advising me to print fliers and paste them all over the hostel to create more awareness.

Just as he was talking, one of my coursemates (let's call him Tony) who happens to know him pretty well...

Came along and interjected in the conversation.

Tony argued that I don't need the fliers.

He insisted that the method which I was using that time - which is going from room to room to market the gadgets...

Was much better and more effective.

Because according to him, most people would find it easier to believe, trust and buy gadgets from someone they can see live in the flesh...

As opposed to someone on some flier somewhere.

He even cited himself as an example that whenever he sees fliers...

He never actually reads or checks them to buy anything from them.

And he further gave examples of people choosing to ask him whenever they needed some things...

Instead of checking a flier of someone who sells the same thing which they have already seen.

But then Kunle defended his argument by describing a scenario in which a person needed gadgets urgently.

For example if a person's earphone or charger gets spoilt at night...

And he needs a new one urgently to go out the next morning.

Normally I didn't usually go out to market my gadgets until evening.

Which means there is no way he would be able to get to me.

In such a case, having my fliers around would make it easier for the person to contact me and get the products.

All he would have had to do is just to get my number from the flier and call me or text me.

And he would easily be able to get the gadget without stress.

Both of them kept arguing for a while and made their points, but this is just a summary of what they both said.

Now here's a question for you buddy.

Which of them do you think is correct?

Kunle?

Or Tony?

And why do you think he is right?

I want you to think about their arguments very carefully and put on your marketing-thinking cap.

I'll be reading every response.

If you ask me, I will say they are both right in different perspectives.

And there are a couple of valuable lessons you can pick out from their arguments.

But I won't tell you today, because I am not in the mood.

But if you respond to this mail with your thoughts, and some sunflowers too, 🌻🌻🌻

Maybe tomorrow I will spell them out for you.

With that, I'll leave you to have a good night's rest.

To your digital success,

Daniel.

PS: Just a soft reminder that you have one day left to decide whether you want to be on my new email list or not.

After tomorrow, you won't be receiving my valuable mails anymore.

Reply to this message with your name and best email address now.

Or not, whatever you decide.

Peace. ✌🏾
