I don't know whether you're Christian or Muslim,

I don't know what your beliefs are,

Heck I don't even know what kind of person you are,

But one thing I have come to observe about the Bible is that if you put the principles in there to practice, they work.

I have experienced this on several occasions,

And recently, there's one particular principle that I unconsciously applied, and surprisingly it worked.

I literally had very little or nothing to do with making it happen, but to my amazement it did happen,

And I'm going to tell you what that principle is in a bit,

But here's something I want to tell you,

And you really should pay attention to this.

Or not..

Na you sabi.

Here goes nothing.

A few days ago, one of my close friends asked me to design a flier for her.

Truth is, I hadn't designed anything for a pretty long while before then.

In fact, I have promised to design a flier for someone for months now and I haven't been able to bring myself to design it up till now,

(I know that makes me a bad person..

Stop judging me!)

So needless to say, I was reluctant to design it.

More so because, my design process is a very weird one,

I say this because I always start confused and not knowing what to do exactly, buy I usually end up surprising myself.

So I started it anyway, and finished up.

When I was done, I wasn't really feeling the design.

I thought it could be better because of all the kind of designs I see top guys make nowadays.

So when I submitted the design, I wrote a message that said...

"It's not my best work I know, but just let me know what you think"...

She wasn't online at the time,

I kept checking her DM frantically to see whether or not she had seen the message..

All of a sudden, I noticed that she had seen it, but didn't respond...

"She doesn't like it"...

"I knew it"..

" It's not good enough"...

Those were the kind of thoughts that flew across my mind...

I told my brother about it, and he decided to call her and ask her if she had seen it..

Afterwards I spoke to her, and then she said these dreadful words...

"I love it"...

I was surprised to say the least...

The positive comments didn't end there.

Lots of people who saw the flier when it was posted began asking her who designed the flier...

Turns out they all loved it...

Even when I myself was in doubt of my own abilities.

Imagine if I had given up because I thought it won't be good enough.

I probably wouldn't have designed it and I wouldn't have known how it would have turned out.

My point?

You have got to believe in yourself or no one else will.

Before anyone believes in your ability to proffer solution to their problem, you have got to believe in yourself and your ability first.

The kind of energy you emit ultimately rubs off on people around you including your clients and prospects.

So if you emit the energy of self-doubt, fear, inferiority complex and incompetence,

It will rub off on your prospects and clients..

And they will become less likely to patronize you..

And even if they do patronize you, they may not want to pay you what you're truly worth...

And you don't want that...

Or do you?

I didn't think so.

As for the unconscious principle I mentioned earlier,

It's quite a very simple principle..

And even if you're not a Christian, you have probably heard it somewhere before..

And what is this simple principle?

Ask and you shall receive.

Simple right?

Yes it is.

A short while ago, I remember saying that I want to read books on personal development and growth,

But I don't like e-books because I'm always distracted by other things in my phone.

I said I was looking for where hard cover books are sold...

And even one day when I went to a market, I saw a place where books were sold, but they weren't the kind of books I was looking for.

Then all of a sudden, BOOM!

In my house, I saw a book I had been wanting to read for a while now...

The name of the book is "Rich Dad Poor Dad".

Turns out, there's a youth organization in my community that normally organizes weekly meetings every Monday shared a new book to its members as they usually did every few months.

I used to attend the class before and I have benefitted from some of their books in the past,

And this time, they shared the book "Rich Dad Poor Dad",

And since my sister attends the programme, she was given a copy of the book.

It was an answer to my unconscious prayer..

A prayer that followed the simple principle I mentioned earlier..

But most people commonise this simple principle because they think it doesn't work.

Sometimes, you may not even need to ask anyone directly...

All it may take is just you saying out loud that you want something,

And God (or if you like, "the universe") will grant you that wish, just like He did mine.

It may sound trivial, but it works..

Not like magic though..

But It does work.. Overtime..

As long as you work towards those wishes of yours...

Or not.

It's your choice..
