The Best Way To Lose People's Attention.

Sep 04, 2022 7:43 pm

Hey ,

Happy Sunday to you.

Today, I have an important Copywriting tip for you for your headlines that will get more eyeballs to not only PAY ATTENTION to, but also STAY GLUED to your marketing messages.

This tip will work for:

  • Your email subject lines,
  • Any content you put out on social media such as Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms,
  • Your blog posts,
  • And so on.

Of course, you know that MORE EYEBALLS paying MORE ATTENTION to what you put out there means:

  • More email opens,
  • More post reads,
  • More trust being built,
  • More leads being generated and ultimately,
  • More sales for you.

And it doesn't matter whether you're a copywriter, an online entrepreneur, or whatever.

As long as you do it right, you will be amazed at the results you will get.

And I will tell you this tip in a moment.

But first, here's my random thought for you today (as I normally do every Sunday).

If you read yesterday's mail, then you know about the story of how my colleagues were "making fun of me" a few days ago.

And although I wasn't surprised at it because I'm not new to it any longer,

It just goes to show that people only value success (or successful people).

As much as people like to criticize and question people's ambitions in the internet space,

The moment they see that you have succeeded (or you are beginning to succeed), all of a sudden they will begin to take you more seriously.

By "they", I am referring to people who are closer to you such as family, friends, colleagues and so on.

So if you haven't succeeded yet, just know that while you are trying to, you will:

  • Get made fun of,
  • Get ridiculed,
  • Be called a "motivational speaker",
  • Be tagged an unserious person sometimes,
  • Maybe even advised to leave digital skills and focus on your job or career or other income sources that offer more "security".

But I want you to know this.

The journey to success isn't easy because it isn't meant for everyone.

If it were easy to succeed, everyone would do it.

That's why there are very few people at the top, because only few people are willing to go through all the struggle, challenges, rigour, and hard work required while enduring all the criticism along the journey before you can succeed in the end.

I mean, what makes success so beautiful and special if not all these challenges?

That's what makes it worth it in the end.

So keep pushing and working hard despite all the taunts, jokes, criticisms and discouragement you may face.

And above all, make sure you are treading the right path (because if you aren't, then you probably won't succeed).

Very soon, much sooner than you think, you will have that breakthrough you have been waiting for that will launch you into the level you have been aspiring to get to financially.

Okay, enough of all that talk.

Now, let's dive right into the Copywriting tip I have for you.

It's a simple tip really.

It's called...

REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY.

It means saying the opposite of what is common knowledge, or what people know or what they would normally expect to see or hear.

It's sort of like going against the normal way of things.

For example, if you look at the subject like of today's mail, it reads:

"The Best Way To Lose People's Attention."

Normally, you would expect that I would be giving you tips on how to retain people's attention, not the other way around.

But because I am telling you the opposite of that, it inspires a feeling of curiosity in you to want to find out what exactly I am talking about.

And here we are... You are reading this mail.

Are you getting it?

Let's have a crack at a few more examples.

Let's say you want to write a Facebook post as a professional hair dresser, you could use a headline that says:

"5 Ways To Make Your Hair Break More Often."

Then, you begin to list things they do that make their hair break more often...

You get?

Another example.

If you want to make a Twitter thread as a fitness coach, you could use a headline that reads:

"Here Are 3 Tips To Gain Excess Weight Super Fast"

Then you proceed to mention them e.g...

"1. Wake up at midnight and boil water for tea, and mistakenly use it to make eba. 😂

2. Eat any thing that comes your way like a horse on steroids.

3. Don't do any hard work at all, avoid the gym and sleep all day..."

Do you get the point?

Doing this makes people curious to find out what you mean by your headline,

And it helps to pass your message effectively to your audience,

Because their brain will tell them that they need to do the opposite of what you are telling them if they want to avoid getting the result you told them of in your headline.

For example, if they don't want to gain excess weight fast, they will know that they should:

1. Not wake up at midnight to eat

2. Not eat everything they come across

3. Do some hard work, visit the gym often and not sleep all day.

I hope you get the gist now?

Good.

Now go and implement this strategy and come and share your testimony.

I'm rooting for your success.

Have a great new week ahead.

To your digital success,

King Danisan™.
