Hi ,
How are you doing?
I didn't send you a mail for three days straight,
And I am going to make up for it in this mail,
Even though you did not bother to ask of me .
Anyway, today I have something I want to talk to you about that I had very little understanding about some years back,
But after some years, I have grown to understand more about this truth,
And although I have talked to you about it before, but I feel the need to talk about it again,
And I will do that in just a bit,
But first, in my last mail, I told you about a statement I heard in a movie that was filled with lessons,
And I told you to remind me to dissect the statement, but you refused.
I probably shouldn't bother myself dissecting it, since clearly you didn't feel it was important enough for you to remind me.
But out of my good heart, I will go ahead and dissect it.
And what is the statement?
"Sell it to me."
If this statement sounds strange to you, then that means you didn't read my last mail.

Now you understand what I am talking about.
When you hear the word "sell", I'm pretty sure what comes to your mind is physical items or commodities that you can see... Isn't it?
Truth is, there's much more to selling than just physical products.
You can sell almost anything even if it's abstract.
If you read my mail, then you know that the doctor I talked about had to convince his superior about a method they could use to cure a patient, even though it had never been tried before,
And eventually, he pulled it off.
So you see, you can sell an idea, a belief, a proposal, a promise an opportunity and other things like that.
From what you can see now, we all sell every day.
- Whether it is when you try to convince your spouse or partner to buy something he originally didn't want to buy,
- Or when your parents promised to buy you a bicycle if you came 1st position in your class,
- Or when you made your parents give you extra money for transportation that you really didn't need,
- Or when you convinced your friend to join a ponzi scheme you were in because they told you that you needed to bring two people before you can get your money back (Don't roll your eyes at me like that... I am not shouting am I? Lol).
All of these are examples of people selling different things everyday.
Everyone sells, whether you like it or not.
You either do it well, or you do poorly just like most people.
Even salvation was sold to us.
God did not wait for us to someday realize that we need him.
He sent his servants and prophets and ultimately, his son Jesus to "sell" the idea of salvation to us. (No offense if you're not a Christian).
You gerrit now?
Good.
If this alone doesn't convince you on why you need to learn how to sell, then I don't know what will.
The main difference between all these people I mentioned above is that some people sell to make money, while others don't.
The question now is, where do you want to belong ?
Those who just sell irrelevant stuff with no gain, or those who use their selling skills to make money for themselves?
Think about that question very carefully and answer it yourself.
But there is something common about all of these people that sell various stuff.
They all apply the same principles.
And if you use those principles, you will definitely sell a lot more of your stuff.
And what is this common thing they apply?
They all use Persuasion.
Check anyone who sells a lot of stuff..
You will see that they are very persuasive.
I am not talking about those who beg people to buy into their products or services.
I am talking about people who are very convincing.
People who know how to combine emotion and logic to get people to do their bidding.
Show me a persuasive person, and I will show you a great saleswo/man.
If you want to sell more of your products or services, learn how to sell using Persuasion.
This topic of Persuasion is very broad, and I certainly can't talk about it all in this mail.
But then, there are certain principles of Persuasion that you can start applying in your sales messages and copies if you are a copywriter.
If you apply these principles well, your sales are sure to exponentially increase.
These principles are about 5 or thereabout in number,
And I will tell you all about them,
But that will be tomorrow.
