Over N1Million Made With Affiliate Marketing?

,
A few days ago, a guy (one of the "kings" of cruise as I told you in yesterday's email) and his other compatriots were talking about something that they had very little knowledge about.
And while they spoke ignorantly, I was just smiling and laughing at their ignorance.
But I didn't really blame them for saying the things they said.
Instead, I blame the lazy people who didn't do their job right,
Which has resulted in people badmouthing and saying trash about a simple and very profitable business model.
Here's a little back story.
A former roommate during the period of ASSU strike got into affiliate marketing.
Pretty soon, he was making some sales and "making waves" -- while using the same tactics most affiliate marketers use (giving discounts to make sales and then using screenshots to "pepper them" so that he can get more people to join).
And while these methods are not necessarily bad in themselves,
The problem with 90% of affiliate marketers is that these methods I mentioned above are literally the only way they make sales (not kidding).
In fact, this is not the only problem I have with affiliate marketers. Here are some other problems I have with them.
- They mostly only promote affiliate marketing courses and programs.
What this does is that it makes the affiliate marketing business model feel like a ponzi scheme or referral scheme,
Because the people who they sell these affiliate programs to will end up (trying to) sell the same affiliate program to other people, who will also (try to) do the same thing.
And overtime, it has become a cycle.
In fact, in the words of the "cruise King" I mentioned at the beginning of this mail,
"That affiliate marketing thing na scam.
When I dey see person dey talk about am I be wan enter, but na my friend tell me say make I no try am say na scam.
Him talk those people just dey try to get their money wey they use sign up back.
Na if you sign up na im dem go get money.
Once you enter like this, you go gats dey find people wey to register through you."
I'm not quite sure I put it in his EXACT words, but this something very close to what he said.
And what even spurred the discussion was that a few weeks before we resumed, apparently the former roommate (affiliate marketer) spoke with the "cruise King".
And he claimed to have made over N1million with affiliate marketing.
And he was asking him to let him show him how he did it.
Thinking about the whole thing, it makes me livid, because I have experienced it before.
I got into affiliate marketing in 2021.
And because of the way it was presented to me I had the wrong mentality as well.
And one of the reasons why I didn't succeed with affiliate marketing at the time was because I could not bear the thought of mentoring other people with "half-baked" knowledge.
Plus I guess I was afraid I wouldn't be able to answer their questions and keep them motivated to get their own results.
But overtime after learning about marketing (not from the first course I bought btw),
I have come to realize there is more to affiliate marketing than these affiliate marketers were telling us.
And this is another problem I have with affiliate marketers.
- Many of them don't know the REAL Secrets to making sales without offering discounts everytime.
And so they can't properly MENTOR the people who they sell to with those discounts.
And the worst part is that they pay for these discounts by forfeiting some of their profits,
Trust me, this is not a sustainable way to run an online business (except you are the owner of the Digital product you are selling).
It's painful thinking about it though because people like that my former roommate has made it more difficult for legitimate affiliates to make sales.
And maybe tomorrow I will talk about some of the secrets to ACTUALLY making sales without sounding desperate or having to give discounts everytime.
But anyway, one thing you should know is this.
Affiliate marketing is still a LEGITIMATE business model.
But if you want to get into it, don't get into it with the wrong mindset.
And make sure you get Mentorship from someone who actually KNOWS his marketing "onions" and has RESULTS to show for it.
This is my own $0.02 for you this morning.
Meanwhile, I wish you an amazing day ahead.
To your digital success,
