Happy Friday!
If today's email looks weird, it's because I had to switch to a different newsletter service provide because my old one wanted to start charging me stupid amounts of money per month. So! I'm trying something new. It's possible my next couple letters will be a little wonky as I work everything out to how I like it.
For anyone caught in the middle of onboarding while I switched providers, here's a link to all my short stories on BookFunnel, if you haven't had a chance to read them yet.
In other news, I've signed with Podium to produce audiobooks for Friendly Fyre! Very excited to finally get those made, as I've had a lot of readers ask when it will be an audiobook. I'm currently on the hunt for trans women voice actors to narrate the book, so if you guys know of any to recommend, please reply to this email and let me know! I expect the audiobooks will come out sometime mid-to-late 2026.
Today, the last chapter of Kanin Fyre posted on the Patreon. That's Kanin Book 4, which has Fyre as a primary side character. On the flip side, Wild Fyre will be Fyre Book 3, and have Kanin as a primary side character. I'm already several chapters into Wild Fyre at this point. Time to start thinking about commissioning some covers for these books! If you guys have any suggestions for what you think should go on these covers, I'm all ears.
As you all know, Nyte in Shining Armor came out last week. It's not doing great! Ha ha. It's interesting, because this was the least popular book when I posted it on RoyalRoad, too. I'm not sure if it's that people are tired of vampires, or what, but it's a shame, because it was one of the most fun I've had writing a book. And even if it hasn't done well, I'm really enjoying writing Book 2. I'll end it with the duology, though. It's kind of wild to think that I'm over halfway done with all the series in the NPSeeds Universe. By this time next year, I might have all of them complete! Then it will be time to start brainstorming the next series to write...
Other than that, these days I'm just gearing up for Water Kanin's release in November, and the couple of conventions I'll be attending at that time. Oh, and spooky season! I'm so glad it's finally spooky season. I've already gotten out my skeleton hoodie and started putting up bat and pumpkin decorations everywhere, haha.
P.S. The Lesbian in Space anthology I have a short story in only has 5 more days before the fundraiser closes! We're so close to hitting $10,000, at which point I will get paid a tiny bit more for my submission lol.
This Is The Section Where I Promote Other Authors!
As always, I've also got some books by other authors I'd like to highlight. Some are free downloads, others are free on KU, and some are available for purchase on Amazon. If any catch your eye, you can check them out by clicking on the pictures below.
Free on KU
Lesbians In Space: This is the first volume of Lesbians in Space, and my short story is in the second volume. Still, really cute cover and great stories. You should check it out!
Poisoned Kingdom: Perfect for fans of enemies-to-lovers romance, rich world-building, and Slavic-inspired magic. This adult high fantasy delivers slow-burn tension, dark intrigue, and a hero torn between power and love.
Thine Eyes of Mercy: The second installment in the Legacies of Light & Dark mythic fantasy series. Set against the opulence of Tudor England, this epic tale of betrayal, prophecy, and supernatural politics blurs the line between history and myth.
Dawn of a Demon: What's a half shifter to do when a toxic, memory-warping drug starts frying the minds of the people she loves? Sharpen her cat claws and unleash her spider fangs, because it's time to hunt down her prey.
Project Phoenix: An epic series featuring Cora Blake, a Native American sorceress who tries to defy fate in a world of magic, myth, technology, and pulse-pounding action.
Waking Chaos: This fantasy/paranormal romance book features a snarky female lead, steamy content, enemies-to-lovers, and Greek mythology with a new twist!
Available on Amazon
Quest to Valadin: Joining Quest Therapy at the suggestion of her therapist feels like a huge mistake. Pretending to be someone else in a room full of strangers that have issues of their own seems futile. But as they learn to work as a team in the quest, Alanna begins to see the possibility that letting others into her real life might not be such a fantasy after all.
Boba tax!
Best,
Kia Leep
