It’s Been a Journey…

We spent a month in the states …

There was just so much of so many good things.

It’s been a journey …

But look at what God has done.

I was at the birth of my newest niece.

Almost I missed meeting her.

She waited to come until the day before we left.

We’re going home outfitted with compression sleeves for Stewart.

And we’re looking ahead to at least a year or more of wearing them and oil therapy on all his burns.

It feels daunting.

But we’re so grateful for his continued healing.

It’s 8 weeks post accident and I wonder if I’m only now processing the life changing reality of burn care.

It’s like running a marathon but not being sure where the finished line is.

Now our hearts have gladly turned toward Kenya and home.

Before home came Ireland for just a few short days.

I’ve prayed about a trip to Ireland for a long, long time.

I still wonder if I’m still dreaming.

When we landed in Dublin we got a message that some of our teammates were in a serious accident.

Early in the morning they were traveling to Nairobi with plans to fly to the States for a funeral and their long awaited furlough.

Thankfully God spared everyone’s life.

But there’s bruises and swelling and pain in bodies and hearts.

Our team has been through a lot together.

Not long ago they were spending late nights at our house helping with Stewart’s dressing changes.

Pray for Kevin and Don & Amber and their girls…

Pray for the passengers in the other vehicle…

Pray for those who are filling in the gaps caused by our absence…

And pray for us all…

It’s been a hard season.

“But He knows the way that I take;

When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.”

Job 23:10
