We are excited to invite you to be part of the 5K Angel Run on October 19, 2024, at Virginia Wesleyan University in Virginia Beach, VA. This special event supports families who have experienced the loss of a baby due to pregnancy loss and raises awareness for this important cause. Your participation as a volunteer is crucial in making this event a success.

We have several volunteer opportunities available, each playing a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the event. Here are the roles we need help with:

Setup & Tear Down (High Priority)

• Time: 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM EDT or 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM EDT
• Details: Set up tables, chairs, signage, and other items. Volunteers must be able to do physical work.
• Location: Near the restroom, race course (signs), and halfway point.

Volunteer Coordinator (High Priority)

• Time: Flexible
• Details: Assist with volunteer check-in/check-out, greet volunteers, and use a mobile device for check-in. Volunteers must be able to walk/stand outdoors in any weather.
• Location: Registration for check-ins, main event area.

Packet Pick Up Station (High Priority)

• Time: 8:00 AM - 10:30 AM EDT
• Details: Welcome registered runners, provide their race packet, and direct them to the main stage for warm-up.
• Location: Registration tent.

Water Station (Medium Priority)

• Time: Flexible
• Details: Volunteers will work at a water station during the race, filling water cups, handing water to runners, and picking up trash. They must be able to walk and stand outdoors in any weather for 1-2 hours.
• Location: Start/Finish line or at the course's halfway point.

General Assist (High Priority)

• Time: Flexible
• Details: Follow directions well, problem-solve, and assist with various tasks. Responsibilities include trophy setup, relaying information, and general assistance.
• Location: Various as directed by the Race Director.
