My Best Goal-Setting Advice for 2022
Jan 03, 2022 3:01 am
Hi ,
Happy New Year!
And Happy 1st Monday of the year!
Are you setting intentions for the year? Are you making resolutions? Do you have a word to define your year? Are you creating goals and plans?
Or maybe you're so disillusioned with years of failed plans and resolutions that you're not even going to try this year . . .
Which one are you?
It is not the resolutions or intentions for the New Year that are bad. We just need to be smart about them.
So no matter what approach you take to New Years, I want to encourage you with a few quick tips:
✅ Even though it is a "brand new year" - you're probably not going to drastically change your whole routine, mindset, or habits overnight. And it's not fair to put that pressure on yourself. Create plans that factor in YOUR REAL, actual life. Build in margin for grace, to mess up, to have a down day, to step in for friends or family that need help. Give yourself time to work up to things. Think about how you can make a few key changes that are sustainable for you.
✅ What ONE change would make the biggest difference and create a domino effect throughout the rest of your life? If you just focused on this one goal, how could it affect everything else? Pick one key change right now and then, hey, you can always add in another one in May right? YOU make the rules here.
✅ Start right now. Get up and do something that gets you closer to your goal.
I hope you feel encouraged today by one of my favorite mantra's . . .
Just get 1% better each day.
Focused goals you consistently work towards will be so much more powerful than any grand life overhauls.
Happy 2022.
