Hello, and happy last-day-of-July!

We're getting into our favorite month of the year - August! We have a few announcements to be made this month, which include a limited sale discount for our resume review package and an upcoming event in September. So make sure you stay tuned for news in our upcoming newsletters or keep an eye out on our Twitter account!

That said, in this week's issue, we want to share a little bit about how Kejar Kerjaya started, back in 2020.

When we first thought about offering job search classes on Zoom, we only had one thing in mind. There was a lot of people struggling to find a job, and the pandemic was making it worse. Therefore, we wanted to offer an affordable option for students and graduates to learn more on how they can improve their employability and stand out in the job market.

And let us be very honest - we had no idea on how to successfully run the class.

It was our first time, and we had to improvise a lot on the structure of the class. We also did not have a proper way in how to track the participants and everything - it was all done just through a Google Form and Google Sheets.

Everything was a little haywire and all, and we had a lot of hiccups along the way. But thankfully, things went well and feedback were great from the participants despite all the hiccups and shortcomings.

Learning from our mistakes to create a better and more inclusive masterclass.

When we ran our Job Search 101 class previously, it was a 2.5 hour long session. After delivering it for a few times, we realized that it did not provide a conducive environment for both participants and speakers as there were a lot of information crammed within that short time-frame.

The delivery style (webinar/lecture-style) was also not student-centric, as participants were mainly listening with little activities in between.

While the content are useful and beneficial to the participants, the lack of opportunities for them to practice what they've learnt made it harder for some to digest and fully capture the learning.

We had a lot to learn, and the feedback from our participants help us to really understand what our participants need and how to best cater the class to support them in their growth.

That said, even as we are developing the updated version of the Kejar Kerjaya Masterclass, we are still aware of how imperfect it may be. We do not promise that it is the best class on job searching out there (because, let's be real, what's best for you may not be the best for someone one). But we do strive to deliver our best and to work hard on ensuring that every participant will gain beneficial knowledge and skills from the class.
