Do you really need to create all that content??

Recently, I sent you an email with what seemed like an insane amount of content necessary to be seen on Instagram. In case you don't remember what I'm talking about, here's what Instagram allegedly said was necessary for engagement:
3 posts per week
8-10 stories per week
4-7 reels per week
1-3 IGTVs per week
At first glance, this can seem pretty daunting. But I've got a trick that can make this easier than what you're already doing.**
**I guess it really depends what you're doing, but hear me out.
The trick is: REPURPOSE YOUR CONTENT
Let's take one week. And we'll pretend you're a cake shop as an example. So first, we'll theme the week. Valentine's week.
We'll take pictures and quick phone video of the cookies, cupcakes and cakes we have for sale this week.
Posts:
Post 1: Cookies
Post 2: Cupcakes
Post 3: Cakes
Reels/IGTV
Take a video of you frosting the cookies, 2x it on your phone then 2x on Reels to make it 4x
Take a video of you talking about the Valentine's treats you'll have and then a quick video flyover of each option
Take a quick video of all of the baking and excitement in the kitchen as you're preparing treats
Do a slide show video naming each option with pricing
Each video should capture the viewer's attention within the first second. I like to do this using a caption that leaves questions, or honestly, good looking food usually does the trick.
IGTV:
IGTV only needs to be 1 minute long. It's a great place to create a series. You could decide on a monthly themed series and post a new one each week. For the bakery, it could be a quick-cooking show. Or maybe tips on decorating cakes. They don't have to be long, but they could be.
Stories:
Have a purpose for your stories, what is your CTA? For the bakery, it's to get orders. So tell that using multiple slides.
Slide 1: Looking for sweets for your love, look no further
Slide 2: We've got Cookies. picture and price
Slide 3: We've got Cupcakes. Pic and price
Slide 4: We've got Cakes. Pic and Price
Slide 5: Call or DM us to order
Stories are also great for reposting all your other content.
If you're looking at all of that and feeling like it's a lot, I hear you. It really comes down to, what are your goals?
If your goals are to use social media as a platform to get more customers, investing 3-4 hours in creating this type of content can be absolutely worth it.
Once you have a collection of pictures, graphics and stories you can start to reuse them and this process will go faster.
It also gets easier with practice. If you're not using a ton of video content, it might feel awkward. The only way to get through that is to start trying it.
And if you want help coming up with this type of content, that's what I'm here for. Reply back and let's talk!
Good luck friends!
