☕ Tuesday Tea - Birds, Bees and Bats in the Trees

We had a special visitor for a few days. Our daughter found a little brown bat trapped under a panel that blew into our yard. The poor thing couldn't move, so we contacted rehabbers who encouraged us to bring it indoors (after ruling out potential signs for rabies, of course).
Thankfully, we're a family of nature lovers and had a bug box hanging around. The rehabber told us to drape paper towels over one end to encourage the bat to climb, if possible. To everyone's happy surprise, it did! After a few days of stability, we released it successfully back into the wild in the dead of night.
The experience had a touch of magic ✨ to it.
Here's something we made to remember it by:
Midnight Berry Tea
Midnight Berry Tea is a uniquely dark concoction filled with fruity flavors. If you've ever wanted to feel like a witch adding ingredients to a cauldron, this tea will put your pantry to the test!
Ingredients:
1 TB loose-leaf black tea or 2 black tea bags
1 tsp dried hibiscus petals
1 tsp dried blueberries
1 tsp dried blackberries
1 tsp dried elderberries
1 cinnamon stick
Honey or sweetener of your choice
Optional lemon wedge for garnish
Instructions:
Boil 2 cups of water.
Add everything but the sweetener and lemon to a teapot.
Pour in the boiling water and allow to steep for 5 to 7 minutes.
Strain. Sweeten. Garnish.
Sip.
