☕ Tuesday Tea - Green tea rice is extra nice

Dear ,

Sometimes, it's difficult to have a writer in the family. That's especially true when they write about recipes. I have a special distaste for people who share advice without taking it first, so my husband and children sometimes have to brave new foods. It doesn't always work out.

This recipe sounds strange, but, at least, according to Martha Stewart, it's supposed to be refreshing while offering inflammation relief. As always, the challenge is getting the temperature right.

Green Tea Rice

Cook brown or white rice whichever way you like best

Prepare one cup of green tea per cup rice

Put a cup of rice in a dish

Pour a cup of tea over your rice and enjoy

Some people strain out all the tea leaves, but I like to leave a few for visual effect. This creates a very subtle flavor that my family enjoyed alongside shrimp salad.

If you have trouble digesting rice, you might try making it in the rice cooker. After it's done, add more water and cook it again. This has made all the difference for people in our household.

As always, you should look into the properties of any ingredients to make sure they won't conflict with your existing health conditions or medications.
