Hello Cruisers!

The Labor Day Weekend is in full swing and I hope you are enjoying this time with friends and family. Labor Day also reminds us of the shift from summer fun to fall and winter explorations. There is a vacation suited for whatever season it maybe.

This past week Oceania will be sailing from a new home port of Tampa, starting in March 2026. This is exciting because the other Florida ports are at ship berth capacity and this Luxury line will be able to serve guest more easily. The Tampa Airport is no more than 15 minutes from the port which is also a huge plus. Coming in 2026 to Tampa will be a few sailings for Regent Seas which is a nother very luxurious line.

Often times I am asked about the last minute ‘deals’. Those deals have evaporated because ships are sailing at capacity. I did notice this past week that Holland America is testing the water for last minute deals. But don’t get too excited yet, the rules are difficult and only for those living close to a port. HAL announced that they will offer any remaining inventory two weeks prior to sailing for $99 per night per person plus port fees and taxes. The cabins would be inside or oceanview. There would be no choice for cabin location. You would fill out a form, enter credit card information, then be notified two days before the sailing and your card is charged. I think this could work for some people, but not many. It will be interesting to see if other lines adopt this same formula.

If you are looking for a winter adventure, I would recommend Antarctica. More ships are sailing the region, both expedition and standard cruise lines. It is one of the few last frontiers and completely jaw dropping. 

It is not too early to start looking at spring and summer plans. From Alaska to Australia to Pacific coast booking early gives you the best cabin location and pricing. I am always here to help.
