Bucket List Destinations

Flam, Norway
Gettting to the destinations you long to see should be taken sooner rather than later. One such destination is Norway. Norway plans to implement a zero carbon emission policy for cruise ships starting in 2025. This will limit greatly the type ships able to visit the fjords. This policy was developed 2018 but the plan is still on target for 2025.
We visited Norway and Iceland in 2019 and it is one of our top destinations. Getting into Geiranger fjord is a feast for the eyes. Upon exiting the fjord you see the Seven Sister's Waterfalls. Breathtakingly beautiful. I think we stayed out on deck so long that evening just taking in the scenery, that we missed dinner. I was that amazing. This is a UNESCO site.

The town of Alesund offers the amazing Troll Road highway. Oh my the vistas! It is really a great tour to take from Alesund. You will be amazed with this glacial carved valley.

And how could you not forget Flam? Another beautiful town with a railroad right at the pier to take you on a wonderful journey through the mountains. Ahh, so much beauty is packed into Norway.

There are several cruise lines that service Norway. Because the small villages, usually only one ship is in port the day you visit. This really plays nicely into your experince with low numbers of people. Sailing from late June to mid August would be a good time to go. Before or after those dates, the weather can turn foul. You can take in Iceland on some cruiselines or go as far north above the Artic Circle. The possibilities are endless!
If you ever wanted to see Norway, I would highly suggest you go in 2024, before the emissions policy goes into effect. I would gladly help you plan and make suggestions of a rewarding, picturesque cruise.

I am seeing good fares for Asia in 2025. Wonderful itineraries, but book early for best pricing.
Finally, let me mention the state of the cruise industry. Cruises in 2024 are up by 30 % over this past year. We have very good group rates when booked early. Cruises are sailing full, but ocassionaly I see prices like above. Even then, those prices don't last long either. The best way to hedge on rising prices is to book well in advance into our group space. Once all the space is booked, those prices are never seen again. Prices are not guaranteed unless a refundable deposit is placed. Waiting to book in less 3 months can turn into higher pricing and poor cabin location, not to mention getting airline seats.
