Fall Greetings to All,

I have just returned from the Naming Ceremony and Inaugural sailing of the Star Princess. It was quite an honor to be aboard with many celebrities and witness the celebration. Camilla and Matthew McConaughey were named the ships godparents. The ship was not christened with champagne but with the Pantalones tequila which is a distilled product of the McConaughey’s. I think that had to be a maritime first. Sheryl Crow gave a great concert and then there was a beautiful drone show over the harbor in Ft Lauderdale. All in all, a beautiful ship and wonderful event.

Has anyone noted that retail stores are promoting early Black Friday sales? The same is happening in the travel industry. Many companies have started their sales much earlier that usual. So, there is no need to wait until Black Friday or Cyber Monday. As you gather with friends and family for Thanksgiving, this is the perfect time to plan the next group or family event aboard a ship or land destination.  I can not stress strongly enough the need to book early. Getting the best price or cabin selection comes from booking early. It is never too early to plan as there are cruises open well into 2028!

When is comes to pricing, most lines will feature a low price that is non refundable. There are always avenues to get a refundable fare and the price reflects that too. But most ads will showcase the non refundable fare. When our agency has group space set aside with Celebrity, we have refundable fares and they come with wifi and beverages. Princess Cruises has now dropped their refundable fares. I feel this is the way that cruise fares will now go.

Speaking of good group rates, here is Celebrity Ascent for May 2026. The price is with a refundable deposit, wifi, beverage package and is priced considerably lower than what is seen on the Celebrity website. It pays to utilize our group rates. They are limited and I will tell you that the group rates get taken pretty quickly too. Don’t delay.
