Hey ! πŸ’™ πŸ“š

Today I have a bunch of bookish goodies and updates that I'm excited to share with you.

Read on for free Fantasy & Sci-Fi books and new releases, an update on The Deathday Chronicles, and a special exclusive quote from Chapter 1!

The Deathday Chronicles β€” Update

Last weekend, I went for brunch with my dear friend Erika. She has the best insights, and I loved talking through the plot of The Deathday Chronicles with her β€” especially the later books in the series!

I can now exclusively reveal the following:

In the meantime, I'm also really excited to share an exclusive quote from the first chapter of The Deathday Chronicles (Book 1):

"A storm was brewing, and I was at its epicenter."

I can't wait to show you just what that storm entails. These books have a special place in my heart, and I absolutely cannot wait for you to read them. They're definitely reminiscent of the "old-school" young adult dystopia, like The Hunger Games, Divergent, The Maze Runner, or Legend. So if you loved those, you will love The Deathday Chronicles series!

As a reminder, you can read The Countdown, which is Theo's story and is the first novel in the series chronologically, on Amazon. If you're subscribed to Kindle Unlimited, you can read it for free! ➜ Click here to read The Countdown for free in Kindle Unlimited!

My lovely friend and YA dystopian author Alison Ingleby, whom I met at a conference in Edinburgh a few years ago, has a special gift for you!

One girl. A corrupt government. A secret that could shatter a country.

London is divided by a lethal barrier. Inside, the rich live in privilege. Outside, people starve and children disappear. Surrounded by lies and betrayal, Aleesha must decide whether to fight for herself or for her people, and whether to follow her head or her heart.

K. R. S. McEntire, another of my YA dystopian author friends, has just released Book 3 in her Eden Saga!

What I love about the Eden Saga is that it's set in a post-apocalyptic Chicago, much like The Deathday Chronicles and Divergent! I used to live in Chicago, and it remains one of my favorite cities in the world. Because of this, I love seeing how authors picture the city in a dystopian or post-apocalyptic setting!

In post-apocalyptic Chicago, only the Cleansed survive.

Seventeen-year-old Ivy would do anything to save her motherβ€”giving up her mutant abilities in a Cleansing ceremony is a price she’s willing to pay. It’s the only way to get her hands on the medicine her mother needs.

But Ivy’s Cleansing goes horribly wrong.

X-Men meets The Darkest Minds in this dystopian fantasy adventure.
