When effort stops working

This is why what used to work doesn’t anymore

image

Hey ,

At some point, many of us notice something quietly changing.

The stretches that used to feel good don’t land the same.

Pushing harder doesn’t create more freedom — it creates more tension.

And movement that once energized us can start to feel like effort instead of care.

This isn’t failure.

It’s not weakness.

It’s part of a natural shift.

In Taoist philosophy, life moves between Yang (doing, effort, expansion) and Yin (being, listening, stillness). As we age, Yin naturally becomes more important — not as an ending, but as a refinement.

Yin Yoga exists because our bodies change.

Our joints change.

Our nervous systems change.

And sometimes, what we need most isn’t more movement — it’s a different relationship with it.

In my Yin classes, we move slowly, stay longer, and let the body respond in its own time. No forcing. No performance. Just breath, sensation, and space.

More soon — I wanted to name this first, in case it’s something you’ve been feeling too.
