When I was leaving India for my Masters in USA, I was frustrated that scholarships in US were only available to US Citizens.

It wasn't until I landed in US and someone mentioned they had a RA, that I learnt that you can do an assistantship and get benefits of a scholarship.

That was just the start of my mistakes. Next one was focusing too much on GPA and not enough on interview preparation.
