Track your progress // Robotics Newsletter Vol 109

Nov 20, 2025 6:01 pm

Hi,

Something I have learned recently is track your progress. First focus on doing the reps - aka how much time you are spending on a task? For example, if you are preparing for robotics interview, how much time are you spending on mock interviews, reading material, practicing leet code.

Once you build into a habit, next track what you are doing and how you are fairing? For example, how many leetcode questions you are able to do in 30 minutes? Or how long it takes you to do an easy question vs a hard question? Or how many easy questions and how many hard questions are you practicing?

This simple yet intimidating task of tracking progress can make a significant difference in your journey because it takes you from occasional preparing for an interview and saying I am trying to making sure you are headed in the right direction.

❤️ Things I am enjoying right now

📖 Book - Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz - I have only read a few chapters so far and I am loving the different writing style. It starts with a funeral and we get to insight into each person as they are preparing to attend the funeral. Is the funeral the murder or will there be another one? Another interesting thing for me is the use of words. There are words that I haven't heard or read before. I am excited to see how the book goes.

🎥 Youtube video - Success is hard until you build systems like this by Matt Gray - The video talks about the simple concept of starting. Just give yourself 2 minutes to start something and you will be surprised how far you will go.

📲 App - Partiful - it is a free app that lets you organize a get together. It is simple and easy to use. And still loaded with features - rsvp, polling, sending messages, etc. Loving it.

💳 Credit Card - Capital One Venture X - I love travel credit cards because it lets me collect points that I use for free flights and hotels. Off late most of the good ones have become coupon booklets which is what makes Capital One Venture X more fun because they have kept it simpler. It is $395 annual fee but you get $300 travel credit and 10,000 miles. And it is 2x cash back flat on all purchases. So as long as you plan on taking 1 trip a year, this card makes sense. Here is my referral link.
