Hi,

"They lost my resume" - that is what I heard from an intern. She was telling me about how she landed the internship. The company had come to her university and done a presentation. She built a good repo with the engineer that was presenting. She gave her resume and waited.

It had been over a month and she hadn't heard back. It was possible that she didn't make the cut/ wasn't qualified enough. She said what is to loose, so she sent a follow-up message. Turns out they lost a few resume during their commute. She quickly sent it over and after interviews, she got the internship!

So this is your reminder to follow-up!

If you don't hear back from someone, send a quick follow-up message. Keep it crisp and clear.

Example - Hey XYZ, I met you at XYZ event and enjoyed our conversation. We spoke about <quick point>. I want to follow-up - did you get a chance to look at my resume for the internship opportunity?
