Hi,

Last Friday, a new proclamation was signed that will increase H1B fees to $100,000. After the initial confusion, they did clarify that this will only affect new H1B visa holders - those entering lottery in 2026 and not the current H1B holders or renewals. They also clarified it will be a one-time fee.

Only time will tell if the rule stays or changes in 2026 but as things stand now this will affect those currently on OPT, STEM OPT or F1 visa and will be applying for H1B visa in coming years.

❤️ Things I am enjoying right now

📺 TV Show/ Movie - Halfway through Thursday Murder Club - it is light hearted and fun. I also loved the Agatha Christie reference in the first few min. It is club in a retirement/ old age community. They start by solving old cases and then a new case involving their own community gets started.

🎶 Song - Radhe Radhe by Falguni Pathak - it is garba season and I am a big fan of Falguni Pathak. I even got to watch her perform LIVE in Bay Area a few weekends ago. Her voice is so amazing and she makes such a great set of songs that the whole experience is amazing.

📲 App - Tripsy - It is a travel management app. I have been trying it out. It helps me organize all of trip details (flights, hotels, etc). What I have been loving is that it is has a feature where I can mark all restaurants in map. Yes all of this can be done in google maps, docs, etc. That being said, I do find it easier to have everything together especially when I am traveling with a group because different people booked different parts.
