Hi,
Be it as a student or a professional at work, you have to learn to talk about your work to different audience at different level.
Let's say you are a student working on a class assignment, you have to learn how to talk about the assignments:
- on your resume - what you did, how it is related to a job you are applying for, for a person who doesn't have context about your class assignment
- in an interview - here you start with basics of what you did and why, and then details about various aspects of your project
- in a networking event - after the initial introduction, you should be able to talk about what you are currently working on and why it is interesting
The pattern continues at work, describing about your work:
- to colleagues - what you are working on
- your manager - they maybe technical or not, they may know about your project or not
- the person/ team you are delivering to - what is the progress, where you are stuck, why you can't do something
- at performance review - what you did and how it helped the company and how incredible you performed
- on your resume - for when you look for your next job.
Here is something that helps - easy to do but often you will get lazy - at the end of the day write down what you did and then over time roll it up to what you did in the week, in the month, in the quarter and in the year.

❤️ Things I am enjoying right now
📖 Book - Every Time I Go on Vacation, Someone Dies - Catherine Mack - a murder mystery about a murder mystery novelist. It is a fun read, page turner and the author breaks the fourth wall and talks to the reader.
📺 TV Show - Fool me once on Netflix - a slow thriller that keeps changing direction and then links up together. I am enjoying on how it unravels, a strong female lead who is courageous while dealing with grief and past trauma.
