I recently came across this video which talked about consistency in habit through easy version. Let's say you are building the habit of working out. The full version is 30 min workout but life gets in the way or you are tired or a million other things and you end up not doing it. They suggest doing the easy version of the habit, for them it was doing 10 push-ups. Doesn't require change of clothes, going to a gym or 30 minutes of workout time. Probably takes 5 minutes. This way they don't break the habit.


Do the same with your habit. Find the easy version that you can still do on days you don't have the energy to do the full version.


For example applying for jobs - full version is go to the website, look at job description, tweak resume, write cover letter, find people who work at the company ask them for coffee chat, etc. The easy version is apply to 1 company via Linkedin.


So if you are building habits, give that a try.
