Hi,

I have been recently learning more about empathy. This requires understanding that same facts can be viewed differently by different people.

A simple example of this in life - a comment, "Wow, you’re brave for wearing that.". To one person it is rude, to the other person it is mean, to a third person it is "they shouldn't have said it" and to a fourth person they are being honest.

On the surface level, it sounds similar but on closer observation it shows the variation in intensity of how the comment is interpreted. Everyone is viewing the comment from their context of culture, values, education and how confident they feel about their own clothing.

This doesn't just play a role in personal life but also in professional life. When you are discussing a solution, people from different background (business manager vs engineer, masters vs phd, engineer vs researcher), will feel differently about the solution being discussed. It is not always as simple as this is the best solution, it is often how people feel about different solutions.

❀️ Things I am enjoying right now

πŸ“– Book - Daring Greatly by Brene Brown - this book talks about how vulnerability affects our life. She digs into how shame and guilt drives our decision and we often run from it.

πŸ“Ί TV Show - Breaking Bad - Rewatching this show and the first thing that hits me is how technology has changed so many things. They are using landlines and caller ID's in the show!

🎢 Song - New Heart by Crash Adams - I came across this song based on IG reel where an artist raps in hindi, amazing!
