Nobody's raw, dry vocals will ever sound stellar in their DAW or their mixes until all of those recorded vocals have been properly gainstaged, EQ'd, compressed, tuned, enhanced, delayed & reverbed. We call those "wet" vocals, once they've been fully produced and sent through a complete vocal chain of FX.
