I can't do this anymore...

I can’t do this anymore.

I don’t know about you, but I am fed up.

I am fed up with an idea that I’ve held onto a little too long.

Let me explain.

At the start of this year, I had set some pretty big goals for myself.

Both personally and professionally.

And to be honest, I far surpassed some. I was happy... For a few moments.

Those wins were quickly over shadowed by a few goals I did NOT hit.

I failed.

Fell short.

Couldn’t make them happen.

Though I fully understand the quote cards that say:

“Failure is a part of the process”

“It’s about the journey.”

“You didn’t fail, you learned!”

They all don’t take into account one (VERY important) thing:

It still sucks.

It sucks to fail.

It sucks to not hit a goal.

It sucks to feel like you didn’t make it happen.

Acknowledging that fact is important.

For the longest time, I held onto this (semi-toxic) idea:

“Everything is a win!”

It just isn't true.

Everything is NOT a win.

Sometimes the failure hurts. Sometimes the rejection stings.

But…

Everything IS an opportunity for your NEXT win.

If you succeed, awesome. Use it as momentum for the next one.

If you fail, awesome. You’re still great. Keep moving forward.

As we head into Summer, focus on the things you want to achieve moving forward. Be ready for the failures because they WILL come.

Be excited about the possibility of achieving everything you want but okay if it doesn’t all fall perfectly into place.

Go out there and make this summer the most transformational few months of your life.
