Before every speech, I’m in bed by 8:30pm.
The next morning, I wake up 3 hours before soundcheck.
I drink 2 bottles of water.
Don’t check email. Stay off social media.
Workout for 1 hour. Take a 1-mile walk. Shower.
Listen to something inspiring.
Look at my notes.
Eat a healthy breakfast.
Watch videos about the company/ event.
Drink more water.
Check on travel post event.
Head to the venue.
Meet the team.
Intros, laughs, good vibes.
Check in on the following:
1. Lighting
2. Slideshow + clicker
3. Mic
4. Timer/ monitor
5. Water
6. Introduction
7. Walk up music
8. What happens after
Then, I go sit in *at least* 10 different seats.
I want to get a feel of the audience experience.
I head back stage.
Doors open.
I skip.
Do push-ups.
Pray.
Smile.
Nerves come up.
I cool them down.
Remind myself to:
1. Love the people in the room.
2. Have a good time.
3. Bring my best.
Hear the introduction start.
Head out and deliver.
Finish the keynote.
Head into the hallway.
Meet a bunch of new friends.
Head to the airport.
Download a podcast for the plane.
Board.
Electrolytes.
Protein bar.
Keynote debrief.
Podcast.
Land and Uber home.
See Gaby and Brodie.
Shower.
Sleep.
And repeat about 60-70 times a year 😂
