A surfer get’s bit by a shark.
They roll onto their surf board.
Absolutely terrified…
That the shark will come back.
So what do they do?
They keep their arms and legs on the board
And wait.
They have eyes on the shore.
So they think:
“The tide will bring me in!”
There is another surfer…
That gets bit by the same shark!
They also roll onto their board.
Absolutely terrified…
That the shark will attack again.
They can also see the shore.
But instead of waiting…
They start paddling
Toward the shore.
They make it on dry land.
Look out and what do they see?
The other surfer…
Laying on their board…
Terrified of the potential 2nd attack.
The fear keeps them from doing anything at all.
Even though they could have already been safe on shore.
Sometimes,
When something happens to us…
We’re afraid to do anything.
So we ‘stay on the board’
And wait.
Instead,
We need the courage to…
Put our hands in the water.
Start paddling toward our goals.
Decide to boldly move forward regardless…
Of the fear.
Of the doubt.
Of the anxiety.
Sometimes,
We need to do it scared.
We need to do it worried.
We need to do it doubtful.
So this week…
Decide to DO IT.
Because action unlocks courage.
And courage is the fuel for everything you want.
