I’m impatient.
You probably are too.
(we’re in this together!)
And that is both good and bad news.
And you know what they say:
”Just give me the bad first.”
Since I was 21 years old,
I had a dream of following a different path.
Building a business.
Creating a life on my terms.
Having a level of freedom you see in the movies.
And having that vision was great!
But there was a problem…
My vision was interrupted by impatience.
How it showed up?
Short-sightedness.
I would make decisions based on:
The next 30 days.
Not the next 3 years.
I would try to:
Save money where I could.
Make next month’s revenue break records.
Try and close deals for the business ASAP.
And completely ignored one crucial component of success is practically every endeavour:
The long-game.
I couldn’t think about where I wanted to be in 5 years…
Because I was so fixated on the results I got in the next 5 days.
I didn’t realize the compounding effect of effort.
The bad news:
1. This pushed me into a mindset of scarcity.
2. It created an aversion to risk.
When we’re short-sighted,
We tend to play it safe.
Make decisions for the moment.
Fail to set a strong foundation.
The solution:
Act based on where you’d like to be in a year,
but in the next couple of weeks.
”So where is the good news?”
”You said there was good news, Juan!”
There is.
Here is where impatience can be used as our competitive advantage:
Speed.
How you move on a day to day basis.
Many people have an aversion to ACTION and they fall into the “Someday effect”
”I’ll do it someday.”
”I’ll get in shape someday.”
”I’ll lose the 20lbs someday.”
”I’ll track my finances someday.”
Here’s the truth:
Someday will never come.
The greatest performers in the world…
Shorten the gap between Someday and TODAY.
They have a level of impatience with their goals…
That creates a sense of URGENCY.
The solution:
Act with URGENCY.
Do not walk…
RUN toward your goals.
That action creates real results.
So all that to say…
BE PATIENT W/ YOUR VISION
Set your sights on the next few years.
And move toward it every single day.
ACT WITH URGENCY ON YOUR GOALS
Do more than you think you can.
Push yourself outside of your comfort zone.
When you do,
You’ll find another level.
And a version of you that can achieve your most daring goals.
Would LOVE to hear:
What are you looking to achieve in 2026? Put it down below so we inspire each other to crush it this year 👏🏼
