Happy summer...um, maybe?

Well. A lot of stuff happened in June, culminating in the big group trail ride this pic comes from. Mr. Marker Boi did himself proud as part of the Ranch Rodeo Trail Ride. It was a big event with around 50-ish horses/mules and riders from little kids to seniors. Not only did we go through town (finishing with a cruise down Main Street to thrill the tourists) but he had to handle rocky, uneven terrain, cross a wide ditch with water that was two feet deep, and be in a large group of horses/mules with riders of varying skill levels. He was a Very Good Boi for our first big outing together.

On the writing front, several things are going on. I finished The Cost of Power trilogy and have gone through a couple of editing rounds, one a line edit, the other a major continuity edit (somehow the Carolingan Mythos crept in there toward the end). I still have one more round to do, but it's done and the first book, Return, will release on time on August 20th, followed by Crucible on September 10th, Redemption on September 24th, and the Omnibus Ebook Edition (with extras not in the books) on November 12th.

Whew.

This month's snippet is an outtake from Crucible. It's an unusual format, with story wrapped around an interview transcript involving Gabe, Ruby, Philip, and Justine. You can download it for free here:

Other writing stuff?

Well, I keep thinking I might work on the Goddess's Vision trilogy. Even though I only have one book outlined, I think I'm going to have it all from two characters' perspective instead of books alternating perspective. Especially since I'm not sure how I'm wrapping everything up in that series. Or...it might get backburnered for some standalones. One idea that keeps nagging at me is a time travel Weird West suffragist novel. But that one is gonna take some worldbuilding.

I also reorganized my office and just plain love the result. For once, I have a space where I can spread out and do work by hand, the laptop has its own space, and...everything is cleared out.

Otherwise, it's summer. Maybe. We alternate between hot weeks and cold weeks.

And I just discovered that yes, I am still hypersensitive to eggs. I ate two small baked goods items that contained egg in the same night, instead of my usual spacing them out. My sinuses are still yelling at me about that.

And oh! I landed not one, but two Kobo sale deals--which means I've lowered the prices on those books for a month for all ebook distributors, not just Kobo.

The second book of The Netwalk Sequence (which can be read on its own), Netwalk, is currently $2.99 and will be available at that price for all distributors (Amazon, Apple, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and Smashwords) until July 13th.

The Heritage of Michael Martiniere, which is a standalone in The People of the Martiniere Legacy series, will be $2.99 from July 15-August 15. Heritage is an excellent lead-in to The Cost of Power because Mike appears pretty regularly and is an important secondary character (as a digital thought clone) in both Crucible and Redemption.

Anyway, that's this month's news.

Like my work but have bought all my books? Want to support me on a regular basis? You can give me a regular monthly contribution or a one-time contribution at my Ko-fi! The Marker boi and the old Mocha mare would like additions to their Kookie Fund.

Buy me a coffee and thanks!

See you next month--I hope to have the Return preorder ready to go by then, if not all three books!
