Hello

imageWe've had an exciting week or two when, firstly, I was nominated for an award at the Travel Agent Day Australia, 2024 expo - as an Outstanding Asia Destination Expert.

A couple of days later we were then advised that Journeys Worldwide had also been nominated: for the Africa Travel Agency Achiever Award.

imageUnfortunately, I wont be able to attend the expo and awards ceremony, being held at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne on the 2nd October (I'll be on safari!), but Margaret Freebairn has kindly agreed to fly down to represent us.

Margaret has been a senior tour consultant with Journeys Worldwide for many years and leads most of our tours through Asia, like our upcoming Jungle Trails and Palatial Pathways itineraries.

Did you know:

One of the Largest Game Reserves in Africa: Spanning over 19,000 square kilometres, Kruger National Park is one of Africa’s largest game reserves, offering an unparalleled diversity of wildlife, including the famed Big Five—lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo.

Incredible Biodiversity: Kruger is home to over 500 species of birds, 100 species of reptiles and nearly 150 species of mammals. This makes it one of the richest wildlife regions in the world, perfect for nature lovers and photographers alike.

Ancient History: Beyond its wildlife, Kruger is a treasure trove of cultural history with over 300 archaeological sites, some dating back to the Stone Age. Visitors can explore remnants of ancient human settlements while experiencing the park’s vibrant ecosystem.

Next Friday I take off from Brisbane - flying off to Tanzania, getting ready for the Classic Migration Safari. I will try and keep you updated from there, but will likely be way too busy pushing through herds and herds of wildebeest and zebra.

Best regards

Sean Lues
