Fiction Fridays - Apple Blossoms

“Exploring life through fiction, together.”
Today, my little newsletter turns one. We’ve seen a lot since last October and it’s morphed along the way. The first issue had eight sections with exercises, thoughts, and meditations. We’ve trimmed down with your help. And, you’re the star here. Without your support, we wouldn’t be here. So, on our first birthday, I’d like to dedicate it to you.
Fiction Bite - Apple Blossoms
They ran through the misty orchard, naked bodies glowing in the moonlight. The air filled with panting and soft thudding of bare feet. They reached the silver river and leapt in. Shrieking shattered the stillness.
“Fuck, that’s cold!”
A glowing wood burner warmed their small cabin. The panelled walls radiated cosiness. They lay entwined on the deep-pile rug as they dried.
“Let’s get married,”
Helen laughed and planted a kiss on Jane’s still-cold tummy.
“Not until you put some clothes on.”
Quote of the Week
“To do the useful thing, to say the courageous thing, to contemplate the beautiful thing: that is enough for one man's life.” ― T. S. Eliot
Book of the month
The Circuit by Francisco Jiménez (or read the Spanish version, also translated by Jiménez)
Final Words
We’re growing up slowly, together. Each year a little older. Hopefully, a little bolder. And I wonder, on this anniversary, if I could ask a favour? If the newsletter has moved you or amused you, challenged you or buoyed you, would you share it with someone? You could forward them this email, share the sign-up page, or this page where they can view the backlist.
As always, what do you think?
With Love,
Josiah
