Fiction Fridays - Blind Date

Hey ,
I dream of being the Terminator of calendrical efficiency. Instead, I rant about being late, while never rectifying the systemic problems. I could, but I don’t value it enough unless I’m counting seconds as I run for a meeting. Despite my constant tardiness, I see myself as a punctual person. I sometimes wonder what would happen if we saw ourselves for what we are? Enlightenment? Or a sobbing heap under a duvet?
Fiction Bite - Blind Date
She hurtled ahead of him, helmet bobbing as she weaved through the rolling bends of the country road. He was late, trapped behind pink lycra, swearing. A gap, he tore past, dashing into the pub. Watching minutes tick by as he sat alone, swearing.

Final Words
This week, we’ve had a new arrival in our household, a baby boy. I now have a near perfect excuse to be late, but it’s time to close the gap between my expectations and behaviour. So I’ll chill out on punctuality, and leave ten minutes earlier, just in case.
