Excerpt from Halloween Chase:

He catches me beneath a tree down the hill near the creek. My foot slipped in the mud, but before I went sprawling, Cam’s strong arms came around my waist.

“I told you what would happen if I caught you again,” he whispers in a voice like fog and brimstone.

“You did, but we already did this,” I remind him, my words a puff against his lips before he claims my mouth in a searing kiss. Everything inside me lights up. His hand slides up my back, caging me, tangling in my hair.

The other slides down to cup my ass. I moan into his mouth and grind against him. Cam holds hard and grinds back. His tongue sweeps past my teeth. Overwhelming. Tasting of cinnamon and something spicier, hotter, like hellfire itself.

Need courses through me.

Cam edges back, breaking the kiss, gently letting me go.

His eyelids open halfway, and I see why he wore the glasses, which I tossed into the weeds. The irises are an uncanny deep orange. Unlike Neve’s tinted contacts, I’m certain his are real.

“Who are you?” I whisper into the space between us. “What are you?”
