It's that time of the year—a time of reflection. When I look back at this year, I think about transitions and transformations.

Professional

This is my first full year as a product management leader. I've learned many things and am grateful for the opportunity to impact Best Egg significantly. I'd be lying if I didn't say I missed focusing more on the tech side of things, but I've also gained a ton of perspective. Every time I've made plans for my career, life hit me with a left turn, and this was no different.

Next year, I'm launching a podcast. Yes, I know, I know...launching a podcast these days is the 90s equivalent of starting a band. But I've been considering it for years and was recently encouraged by some trusted folks. The goal is to focus on helping those in middle management break into senior leadership. Once a month, I'll interview someone in senior leadership (likely in tech, but not necessarily) to have them talk about their journey and recipe for success. Details regarding the title and guests will follow. Keep an eye on LinkedIn. And if you know anyone in senior leadership (SVP-ish and up) who might be willing to appear on the show, I'd love an introduction!

Personal

We went all out this year for Halloween. We found this giant skeleton that sticks into the ground and makes noise (image below). It was so intimidating one of our Doordash drivers was scared to approach the front door.

My mom retired earlier this year, so she's been spending more time with us and the boys, and it's been great having her around.

Judah hit the big 10 this year and we all went to Hershey Park to celebrate. I bought those wrist bands that let you skip the line. Totally worth it and I highly recommend!
