What a great weekend of college wrestling! Tons of great duals where you had #25 North Dakota State defeat #14 Nebraska (20-16). You had multiple top #25 ranked wrestlers compete in this dual but no Ridge Lovett for the Corn Huskers. Lovett was an NCAA finalist at 149lbs last season. The premier matchup of this dual was NCAA champ David Carr vs NCAA All-American Dean Hamiti. Carr beat Hamiti in a close match 7-5 decision.
Another top-ranked dual was in Jacksonville Florida, for the Battle in the River City. #13 Iowa State upset #10 Wisconsin (26-6) this weekend with #2 Austin Gomez falling to #24 Paniro Johnson. Gomez tried a big move early in the first period and fell behind the rest of the match with a final score of 9-4.
The Fight Before Christmas is adding a dual portion to the event. Wrestle 3 duals in the morning with your team then wrestle in an individual open or novice tournament in the afternoon. Registration for the individual tournament is open on FloArena. To register your team for the dual portion, email [email protected]. The registration fee for the duals is very low but it is required that teams wrestling in the duals are also participating in the individual tournament. Seasons Beatings!
