Hey,
I write to you under lockdown. No, not that kind of lockdown - thank goodness! But the kind we face every year at our home when our resident pair of robins decide to nest in our porch light.
At first, it feels quite Disney-esque. But once those beautiful blue speckled ovals arrive, it turns into a territorial turf war, reminding us just how strong the mothering instincts of nature truly are. Basically, we're having a hard time leaving the house un-attacked. 😐 And I've been reminded once again, that as much as I love birds, they can be jerks.
Seasonal experience reminds me that this will only last for a few more weeks and soon, I'll be witnessing a series of tiny orange triangles poking up out of the nest anytime we open the door, seeking a worm or six... This will be followed by pudgy, fluffy, stress-ball shaped baby robins that I'll become unhealthily emotionally attached to, believing they'll be "our robins," only to realize that one day, they just... left - without so much as a "Thanks for not turning the porch light on and roasting us alive."
Motherhood, amiright?
Well, on that melancholy note, this week my son realized I had a taste in music.
Then he quickly realized it conflicted with his own and asked me to turn it off...
All of this to say - THIS SH*T IS HARD!!!
Whether you're mothering a bird, human, dog, yourself, or a spreadsheet for the taxes you extended, you deserve a break and some support.
AND - I happen to know a person who's having a hard time leaving the house and is an expert in supporting caregivers (It's me - I'm the person 😆)
Check out my special offer for Mother's Day | Caregiver Support on my new Vibly Platform.
Click the link below to learn how you or your loved one can receive my special style of support. Stress levels are high right now and the sessions I'm conducting are helping people weather storms that are keeping them mentally and physically grounded through tough stuff.
Share the gift of a partner in health and wellbeing with the one you love this spring.
