{{contact.first_name}}, I'm so 'bad' at this...

Hi ,

This past month was my 32nd birthday (woo hoo, I'm getting old) and I realized a few 'bad' things about myself.

  1. I totally suck at being consistent. It's the worst. I have so many projects and ideas and desires and dreams... yet... I only accomplish about 0.0371% of them. Heck, even this monthly newsletter was neglected for more than 5 months. Dang...
  2. I have a no-love-all-hate relationship with social media. It's a pain in my ass. I go through phases of anti-social media and completely disappear for months or more. Sure, there are benefits to escaping the horrible habit of checking how many people liked my post while I'm on the pooper. However, we're social creatures after all and technology can help us stay connected (especially during these end-of-normal times).
  3. I am struggling to make critical changes to my lifestyle. It's a nightmare. When I was younger, I used to have spontaneous impulses and follow them through with my naïve ambition. Hitchhike the West Coast of Canada? Let's go! Ride a bicycle across South East Asia? Cya! As I'm getting older, I find myself more hesitant and my mind more worrisome about what I'm going to do and where my actions are going to take me. Argh...

To overcome my 'BAD' nature, I've started to do my own Personal Performance Review.

If you haven't read it yet, it covers three core areas about my life since my previous birthday:

  1. What did I accomplish this year?
  2. What did I struggle with this year?
  3. What did I learn?

I highly recommend you do this yourself every year for your birthday. Its a great way to get realigned and to create new goals to achieve before another year disappears.

In response to my review, I am launching 'The Accountability Club.'

This is a not-so-top-secret group aimed at helping freelancers and entrepreneurs to find a balance between creativity and productivity.

Basically, if you or anyone you know is interested, I recommend signing up as I will be selecting the first 10 people to be my guinea pigs/test subjects founding members.

To be a founding member is free, and I'll be selecting on a case-by-case basis.

So, click here if you're interested and follow the instructions on the page to sign up.

Oh, by the way...

A long, long time ago I sent an email to my personal contact list which include my friends, family, old acquaintances, somewhat okay bosses, and you.

I was using a platform called ActiveCampaign to send this email and when I tried to send my second monthly newsletter, well, they refused to send it.

Why?

Because, well, you didn't "opt-in" to receive my emails. Instead, I made the assumption that our personal relationship, which we had or may still have, would be enough to confirm that you would want to receive my emails/newsletter.

So, just as I mentioned in the first email (click that link to read it), you are welcome to enjoy the journey as I explore a new Email Marketing platform called SendFox, or unsubscribe using the link at the end of this email.

(FYI - this will be the last time I mention unsubscribing in my monthly newsletter because doing results in a lot of people unsubscribing... Why, mom? WHY!!!)
