It’s just an ordinary Tuesday, and other than working on my next book, I’ve got nothing. Fall is here, and while I prefer summer, I do enjoy being able to use my outdoor office, which was impossible for much of this year’s summer after about noon.

This email will be brief because I’m not feeling great. I had my flu vaccine yesterday, and today I’m feeling off. This includes having the nerve pain that tells me I may be experiencing a reactivation of shingles. Yes, I’ve had the Shingrix vaccine. And yes, we think I had an activation last year, but I couldn’t get in for testing. Unfortunately, with an autoimmune condition comes weird and unpredictable immune-system reactions. So, I sit here in a dichotomy, both hoping the rash doesn’t appear, and hoping that it does so I can finally get tested and treated for what has been suspected for a while now.

On to books. The winner of last month’s giveaway is Annie L. for a paperback copy of Elemental Tales. September’s giveaway is for a print copy of Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Magic of Dogs (sorry, US only). I have a magical story about one of my dogs in that edition.
