In case you missed it in the last email, From Ashes is, at this very moment, being produced in audio! The narrators are fantastic! Brion Kerry does such an amazing job narrating Aiden that I'm not entirely convinced he isn't actually Aiden. His narration occasionally gets me choked up, and I'm pretty happy about that!

Keep your eyes peeled for more updates!

image“I’m not going to try it,” I said.

“You’ll like it,” she argued.

“I know I’ll like it,” I said. “That’s why I’m not going to try it.”

“Try it just this once and I’ll never ask you to do it again.”

That WAS a deal. I slipped back into the driver’s seat while Pat corn-rowed two neat lines of the silky white powder on the back of a plastic cassette tape cover.

Fifteen hundred dollars every month, an abusive boyfriend, a molested child, a lost family, hotels for houses, a ruined leg, a gun to my head, a knife to my butt, a jail cell all my own. Black eyes, bruised days, broken hours. Looking back, it seems strange what I gave up to get my roommate off my back.

It only took four seconds.

imageNurse Rachel Adabi has hated Dr. Jeremiah Thompson since he waltzed into her Emergency Department and tossed her cookies, quite literally. Stuck working the 24-hour Thanksgiving shift after her sisters abandon her to create their own traditions, she assumes she’ll have to balance patient care with prank warfare.

But when Jeremiah rolls in with his 8-year-old nephew, Rachel doesn’t know what to expect. Is this self-absorbed cookie destroyer really the caring, selfless guardian to his orphan nephew? Does this family of two have something to teach her about where she belongs?

Meredith Beck had it all: the love of her life, a thriving career, and an apartment in the excitement of New York City. Then tragedy strikes, leaving her adrift in a world that’s suddenly lost its luster. Optimistic by nature, she desperately attempts to rebuild. But no matter how hard she tries, she just can’t muster her former strength.

Then a light appears in the darkness: Nick Kelly, a quiet painter from a small town in Maine. Thoughtful and kind, and utterly without pretension, Nick is unlike anyone Meredith has ever known. She is drawn to his love of nature and is comforted by his purity of heart. Through his eyes, the world seems to hold limitless possibility, and as their romance blossoms, she’s delighted to find herself on the road toward a simpler life, with a partner who reminds her of the beauty in every moment.

But it isn’t as simple as it seems. As Nick’s own demons surface, the life they’re building threatens to unravel. Human fallibilities once again complicate best-laid plans. And it becomes clear that before they can embrace the future, they must confront the lingering ghosts of their pasts.

SOME DREAMS FEEL LIKE MEMORIES. SOME MEMORIES FEEL LIKE FATE.

Joe Riley designs his life around certainty—until the night he begins dreaming through the eyes of a woman he’s never met. It’s 1998, and Joe’s orderly world in the Rockies collides with visions of London streets, a voice he can’t forget, and a connection he can’t explain. Therapy offers logic. A medium offers mystery. Only one question won’t let him go: what if she’s real?

As Joe follows the thread from Calgary to London, the search forces him to risk the one thing he’s always controlled—his heart. Of Dreams and Angels is a tender, closed-door (fade-to-black), metaphysical love story about choosing wonder over fear and trusting that what calls to us might be calling us home.
