Christmas In July and Dumb Easy Vanilla Ice Cream
Jul 02, 2024 4:00 am
First of all, let me just say that it does NOT feel like Christmas around here (though if you're Australian then I guess it does).
It has been hot hot hot. And so humid. I live in what was once a swamp along the Ohio River, so this is to be somewhat expected, but it has been extra miserable this year.
However, July has decided to offer us all a gift by making today a lovely 82 degree day and it's the best thing that's happened in weeks. I took a lovely walk this morning and wasn't dripping sweat afterwards.
To celebrate this perfect day, From Snow is only $.99 this week.
And it's part of three other "Christmas in July" promos that you might enjoy. Check them out below.

Not only that, but Smashwords is doing a sale starting today! Four Seconds is discounted at 75% off, and I think that the entire Grey Series is free. Check it out HERE!
And because you deserve it, here's a dumb easy ice cream recipe that only has four ingredients and is delicious.
Dumb Easy Vanilla Ice Cream
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 can (14 oz) evaporated milk
2 Tbsp sugar
1 C milk
Combine all ingredients. Churn. If you've got a cheap ice cream maker like me, you'll wind up with a fairly soft ice cream. It's pretty amazing just like that. But this hardens up nicely in the freezer without getting ice crystally if you'd like it firmer.
You may even be able to try not churning it, and freezing it, then scooping, though I've never done this. (Perhaps 4th of July weekend is the time for such an experiment...hmmm.)
