Speaking of Day of the Dead... Cleaning House and Being on the Wrong Side of Forty

That subject line makes it sound like I maybe found something really creepy while I was cleaning.

I didn't.

Namely because I'm not actually cleaning. (Who did you mistake me for?) But if I were cleaning, I'm sure there would be plenty of creepy things for me to find...

However I meant cleaning figuratively, as in, well, as in cleaning up my email list.

If you haven't interacted for a while, my newsletter server automatically boots you to the "inactive" list, which means emails don't go to you. (I would never do such a thing; I love you; but my email server is, alas, incapable of such tenderness.)

Thus, in order to stay active you have to click an email every 90 days or so.

Just click it open.

That's it. You don't have to buy anything or do anything else. So if you want to keep receiving these, just open an email every once in a while. If not, that's okay too!

And today, just to show you I love you, check out these cute mummy hamburgers we made for Halloween. I mean, they're pretty epic.

Brown some beef with cheese and seasonings (I used ketchup and mustard and salt), then plop the beef onto a circle of biscuit dough. For the top, you slice the biscuit dough (a pizza cutter works great) and layer that on. A couple olives for eyes. 375 for about 18 minutes and voila. Mummy.

I got the idea from my friend, Caroline Fardig, who is the host of the podcast, The Wrong Side of Forty.

Which brings me to...drum roll please... another exciting announcement!

Being on the wrong side of forty myself, Caroline has invited me to join her as CO-HOST (a word that looks very odd in all caps). From here on out, we'll be helping you navigate midlife like it's 1999. Only with more knee pain.

You can find Wrong Side of Forty wherever you get your podcasts. (For me, that's Spotify.) Check out this episode on ghost hunting!

Speaking of Spotify, don't forget that you can also get the first section of my audio book, Four Seconds , on Spotify for free if you've got Spotify Premium.
