Halloween books, Free Author-read Audiobooks, Plus Almond Oat Banana Bread

Is this email a week later than usual? Yes, yes it is.
I have so much coming down the chute. Plus, I'm going back to school. That's right, I myself, am going back to school with the goal to eventually become an occupational therapist (is this what a midlife crisis looks like? Possibly).
And I have been tuckered.
But...I wanted to let you know that I have two books coming out this fall!!! (exclamation point party)
A paranormal Hansel and Gretel retelling, just in time for Halloween called Every Thirteen Years.
This gorgeous cover was created by my good friend from high school, who also happens to be an incredible professional artist. How cool is that?
Every thirteen years in the month of May, a child disappears in the woods.
And this is the year.
Which means there's a strict rule against any children or teens going into the woods. Which means the parties start almost immediately. Which means that when Hans sneaks out to attend the final one on May 31st, his little sister follows him.
Which means things are going to get bad...
And the fifth book of The Determiner series, The Seer
In a place where the icy expanse of the Arctic conceals ancient secrets, Henry and Lucy race to find the third piece of the clasp in time for the determination.
But as they delve into the frozen wilderness, things that should be difficult prove to be painfully…easy? And something about that isn’t quite right.
With time running out and danger lurking behind every snowdrift, Henry and Lucy must navigate their way to the third piece and away from the grip of The Six. Preferably without skipping lunch.
Can they trust their instincts or will their quest end in ice and shadow?
Have I managed to get either of these up for pre-order? ... (crickets...) (more crickets...) (leaves this page to go do it right now). Yes, yes, I have! You can click the links above or get Every Thirteen Years HERE (2.99), or The Seer HERE (just $.99 on preorder! I try to keep the prices a little lower than they will be for my pre-order peeps, so snatch it now, or you can get beautiful paperbacks for the holidays.
In addition to writing books, I've also begun reading them. Chapter by chapter. On Youtube. Eventually, I'll get them up in one long video, but for now, chapter by chapter is how it's going down.
I would love some views, subscribes, comments. And of course I would super love for you to recommend it to your friends.
It's basically a free audiobook. So have a listen! Please. (I'm not trying to sound like I'm begging, but, like, I may kind of be begging.) You can find the first chapter/prologue HERE!
The weird faces I make are also free.
(You're welcome!)
Since it's read by me, the author, instead of a professional, it's somewhat raw (and hopefully that makes it charming).
And, finally, if all your bananas are ripening to the point where they fall off the banana hanger thing (like mine are) here is a beautiful and perfect fall recipe for you. (I do not have a photo, though maybe if I make them AGAIN over the weekend, I'll be able to add one.) (Nope. Instead, you get the image of spotty bananas.
Almond Oat Banana Bread
(Gluten-free, but my kids have raved about it just as much or more than my regular banana bread)
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1/4 C maple syrup (yeah, I use the real stuff, but you can also use just more sugar)
1/4 C coconut sugar (yeah, I bought and use this, but regular sugar works perfectly--brown or white, whatever)
1 Tbsp vanilla
1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar (or any kind of vinegar)
1 C oat flour
1 C almond flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2-1 C chocolate chips
Combine mashed bananas with maple syrup and coconut sugar. Add vanilla and apple cider.
To the wet ingredients, add the dry. You can sift if you're devoted, but I'm not and I just throw it all in there.
Bake in a well greased loaf pan for 50-60 minutes. You can also make (much quicker) muffins by putting this in about 12 muffin tins and baking about 15 minutes.
Enjoy!
