Cozy Up, November (plus, healthy peanut butter mousse I can't stop eating)
Nov 07, 2025 11:11 am
Welcome to cozy season, friends. I'm not kidding when I say I have a literal cat on my literal lap right now (it makes it a bit difficult to type, if I'm being honest). I have a blanket on my legs (I'm on the couch), with a cup of herbal tea beside me. It is heaven.
(okay, so I don't love putting up slightly blah looking pictures of me. But look at that cat. She's living her best life. I am too. This is literally us, right now.)
Now, away from bad pictures of me, and onto cozy books! If you've been hiding under a rock (or not opened any of these emails for a few months), I should tell you that my paranormal Hansel and Gretel retelling is out! It is gorgeous. It is a perfect gift for the teen/tween/fairy tale enthusiast in your life.
Every Thirteen Years... in the month of May, a child disappears in the woods.
And this is the year.
(Okay, that doesn't sound cozy, but surely a fairy tale retelling deserves a little cozy status. Also, it's such a great gift.)
The forest doesn't need a curse. It has a killer.
A paranormal twist on Hansel and Gretel, where the real danger isn't just getting lost.
Okay, okay, okay, if you're looking for cozier... (though I still say a fairy tale retelling deserves SOME cozy status), From Snow is FREE in a pre Black Friday sale. So grab it if you haven't. Next week it will be part of a festive freebies promo with other free winter books. (But I'm getting ahead of myself.) It should be free right now, so go grab it!
Also, some exciting news!
In addition to reading my own chapters of From Ashes on my Youtube channel (You can find the first chapter/prologue HERE!), I'm in the process of hiring a narrator to produce it! It will show up on Audible first and then be available with other retailers later.
And now, a quick stupid easy recipe that I'm obsessed with (meaning we've been eating this 3-4 times a week for breakfast). And, yes, of course I plan to experiment with adding pumpkin to it. Why wouldn't I? It's November after all.
Healthy Peanut Butter Mousse
serves 1
Make time: 3 minutes
1/4 C Greek yogurt (I use full fat)
2 Tbsp peanut butter
1Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp almond flour (You could probably sub oat flour, but I haven't tried it)
sprinkle of chocolate chips (optional)
scoop protein powder (optional)
Mix it together. Add chocolate chips if you're like us. That's it. I do plan to play with adding a tablespoon of pumpkin puree, but haven't tried it yet.
Note: I usually eat it with the chocolate chips and without the protein powder. My daughter usually adds the protein powder. It's so good both ways.
Also, we usually quadruple (or sometimes octuple) this and have it for breakfast for several mornings of the week.
Psst... Told you she really doesn't like it when I type....
