Today I am fighting with marketing. Sigh. While I feel that I'm pretty good at writing (grab a free copy of From Ashes if you want to test this theory), I am painfully bad at marketing. Another sigh. Fortunately for both of us, I have hired a wonderful PA to help with my newsletters. I'll still be writing them, but she'll be giving you recommendations for other books and groups that are running promos. Halle-flibbing-luiah.

However, I did forget one promo, which you can find HERE. You can still sign up to get paperback books (U.S. entrants only) from these amazing women's fiction authors.

imageCan love grow…from ashes?

When volunteer firefighter Aiden Billings gets stuck with a flat tire in rural Kentucky, he’s not happy to have to drag his young daughter to a tire shop for the afternoon. But when the pretty receptionist glances his way, a sliver of his heart cracks open—something he hasn’t felt since his wife died five years earlier.

Nora Evans, however, has a past she’s not keen on sharing, and with good reason. She’s barely crested out of her life of drug use and abusive relationships, and is ready to heal. On her own.

Will the two of them be able to get past the grief that has crippled their hearts? Or will it all go up in flames?

Stacks of boxes tucked in the back of a closet. Pages yellowed by the passage of time. Some written only days and weeks before. One letter for every week, from the moment their love began.

It’s unlikely you knew him. He wasn’t looking to be memorialized. He didn’t ask for these to be published. He might even be shaking that head of wispy hair, wherever he is now, preferring that their discourse had remained private. But I’ll take my chances with their ghosts.

Why? Because the good ones are all around us. We fill our pages, real or digital, with the goings-on of the rich and famous. I’ve never understood that. I’ve never known if we’re meant to find meaning in all the partying, infidelity, and diva-like behaviour. There’s nothing particularly interesting to me in that, yet we’re drawn like moths to a flame. I’ll confess guilt for writing those kinds of stories myself, at my previous publication. Yet all the while, in our midst, are stories of wonder. Of kindness and courage. Vulnerability and hope.
